Young people should see art, not technology: an insurance broker

Leading the world’s authentic Chinese classical dance and music performance, Shen Yun Performing Arts, was an indelible and unique experience for an audience in Dallas when he played at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Shen Yun’s mission is to restore Chinese culture from the pre-communist era. It restores 5,000-year-old Chinese culture in its authentic form.

The performance that evening was especially pleasant for insurance broker Christian Byrd and his wife Camilla, who are big fans of Asian culture.

Shen Yun dances are based on stories with a repertoire that takes the audience from the plains of Mongolia to the Tibetan plateau to the courts of Chinese dynasties, bringing back cherished legends and stories.

Mrs. Byrd, the owner of the flower shop, was delighted with the colors in the dance “Plum Blossom in Spring”. Plum blossoms symbolize courage and beauty during the winter cold. “Monkey in Paradise” was a witty dance that also aroused her sense of comedy.

Shen Yun uses 3D technology to create special effects that are almost magical. “And the background, the way [actors] “It was amazing to get off the screen,” she said.

The dances depict the spiritual foundations of ancient Chinese society, which were believed to be divinely inspired. The ongoing persecution of the ancient spiritual practice of Falun Dafa by the Chinese regime, a practice of meditation from the Buddhist tradition, is also shown. Falun Dafa practitioners are killing themselves because of their organs for supplying the Chinese medical transplant industry.

G. Baird said that he read about the forced removal of organs in China and the oppression of religious groups by the Chinese communist regime. “So I know, if you don’t fall under Chinese communist culture, you are defined as an enemy of the state. And it’s a shame. And it’s a shame because China is an amazing country [and] has an amazing history. But like any other country, when there is a political system that is totalitarian, where they want to control everything … there is no basic level of freedom. It is very, very sad because the average person loses, “he said.

“Whether someone is a Jew, a Christian, a Buddhist, he has the basic right to peaceful worship,” he said.

“It’s beautiful … oh my God. I don’t know who wouldn’t like it [a performance such as Shen Yun]Exclaimed Mrs. Baird.

“We are not rich, but I would like to bring a bunch of high school students [Shen Yun.] “I would buy 400 tickets… because that’s what young adults need to see,” said Mr. Baird. Young people need to see art, not technology and mobile phones, he said.

Amber Smith and Grabriel Ontiveros, co-owners of the hair salon, also enjoyed Shen Yun.

Ms. Smith grew up in dance and recognized the level of expertise of Shen Yun’s dancers, who she said were absolutely in sync. Mrs. Smith has been involved in ballet for almost 18 years.

The unique Shen Yun Orchestra, a combination of Western classical and Eastern traditional instruments, was also a bonus. Everything was so synchronized, she said.

Mr. Ontiveros was entertained by the dance “The Rookie Monks”.

“I really enjoyed it [dance] with the monks, where they did their hair and would take off their clothes, “he said. “But there were so many intricate hairstyles.”

“I love art, we do art, we create hair, but also music and dance, [Shen Yun] it’s just beautiful, “he said.

Gregory Mills and Ray Wells came to see Shen Yun to celebrate a special occasion.

“I wanted to do something special for you [Ray’s] birthday and just a nice evening and enjoy the music and culture “, said Mr. Mills, who works in the police. And he succeeded.

“I will definitely want to see [Shen Yun] again. [The dance] “It’s amazing,” said Ms. Wells. “Athletics and coordination and the way they move together - flawlessly. The colors are crazy. They are beautiful and all the details are intricate. ”

G. Mills was touched by scenes depicting the persecution of Falun Dafa.

“People need to know. It is also a powerful message. “I almost cried three times,” he said.

Shen Yun conveyed a message about the importance of uniting people peacefully, the couple said.
