The latest NFTs from the world of sports

In this week’s review of NFT, we have appearances like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Ronald Acuna Jr., as well as Paige Bookers testing NFTs over Meta and a new initiative by a pair of USC Trojans.

Let’s get to it.

Paige Bookers, an influencer on Instagram

Meta (formerly known as Facebook) will start allowing users to post NFTs on Instagram through a test with 16 influential people - one of them is the basketball star of UConn Huskies.

“I am excited to be among the first creators to share NFTs on Instagram, and I am honored to have purchased a piece from @svopes of the amazing Sunrise Art Club @ilovesunriseart,” Bueckers said in a statement.

“The chance to be part of a global community that celebrates justice, opportunity and community and focuses education and well-being on empowering VOCs through projects and representation in the NFT community is beautiful. I study here and I am so inspired by all the artists, creators and collectors I meet. This image that represents the dawn of a new day moves me. “

According to Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s general manager, “similar functionality” will soon be available on Facebook.

‘The Voice of the 2022 NBA League Playoffs’ on the NBA Top Shot

On May 9, the NBA Top Shot (NFT Association Center) announced that ESPN broadcaster Doris Burke had officially become the spokesperson for the 2022 NBA Playoffs at the Top Shot.

“Every moment of the playoffs tells a story, and from the first round to the final, some of those stories will be revived with a new narration by Doris in our first partnership with the broadcaster,” the platform said in a statement. “She manually selects her favorite games and moments from each round to share her excitement and expertise with NBA Top Shot fans and collectors, making each NFT with an officially licensed film that records NBA history even more special.

Heritage ‘KOZA Hall’

Former USC Trojans quarterback Heisman Trophy Matt Leinart has teamed up with current Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams to launch a new NFT platform called the Hall of GOATs for college athletes to generate digital collectibles through their name, image and similar rights (NIL) .

The platform’s homepage states that “it is designed so that amateur athletes can connect with their most loyal fans and offer ownership and access to future experiences.”

Leinart said for the Boardroom: “All athletes grow up dreaming of becoming the greatest of all time in their sport, but as we know, few of them, if there are any, reach this title,” he said. “The lifespan of an athlete’s career in high school, college and at the professional level is so short that it is imperative that you make the most of the limited framework to build your personal brand on and off the field.”

‘The future is …’ NFT collection

On May 4, Autograph (Web3 brand co-founded by Tampa Bai Buccaneers KB Tom Brady) announced its partner athletes “The Future is …”, who were also featured in the new brand’s campaign.

The group includes Phoenix Sansa defender Devin Booker, Liberty keeper Sabrina Ionescu, American tennis star Coco Gauf, American professional golfer Colin Morikawa and Los Angeles Charters quarterback Justin Herbert.

The first collection from the program was Jonescu’s on May 10.

MLB stars publish NFTs through the DraftKings Marketplace

The two biggest baseball stars - Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays and Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves - were presented in collaboration with DraftKings and Metabilia.

Guerrero’s collection was published on May 3, while Akun’s is on May 11.

Metabilia passes and event-based NFTs consist of three rarities (in the order of scarcity): black, platinum, and green. Athlete-specific editions allow owners to continue receiving event-based NFT throughout the season.
