Say yeah with 76 trombones. Mason City will flourish when RAGBRAY arrives in the city this year, not only because of the cyclists who are breaking through as part of the annual Des Moines registry bike route, but also because of the entertainers.
On Wednesday, RAGBRAY Mason City announced that Sugar Ray, the rock band with Mark McGrath behind hits such as “Answer the Phone” and “Every Morning”, will shake Mason City on July 27.
The band will lead this event together with Don Felder, former leading guitarist of the rock band The Eagles, known for hits including “Hotel California” and “Vitchy Woman”. Since he went on to a solo career, Felder was inaugurated at the Nashville Hall of Fame in 2016, and in 2019 he released his third solo album in seven years, “American Rock ‘N’ Roll”.
Felder will perform on the main stage first, followed by Sugar Ray. Admission is free for all performances in Mason City.
In 2014, the last time RAGBRAY came through Mason City, the organizers invited the frontman of the rock band Poison Bret Michaels to perform.

RAGBRAY is an annual event where thousands of cyclists pass through the country during the week. This year’s ride will include a day when participants cross just over 100 miles, known as the Day of the Century, the fourth day of the event.
That 105-mile stretch will stretch from Emetsburg to Mason City. This is the first time since 1985 that RAGBRAI has crossed that distance. This part of the ride pays tribute to the late John Karas, co-founder of RAGBRAI and former registry writer.

“A few years ago, I noticed that one of the best things about RAGBRAI was that there seemed to be a team for everyone. “We have worked hard to ensure that our party in Mason City reflects that spirit,” said Nancy Lund, president of the RAGBRAI executive board of Mason City, in a press release.
In addition to these headliners, the event will also include side entertainment, including 13 on Seven, a rock / grunge cover band from the 90s, that will play Muse Norris Side Stage. Danny Grause, guitarist from Ames, will play in the main pavilion, followed by Brad Morgan, a country artist from Iowa.
“I think drivers and everyone who comes to help celebrate the Ride of the Century (and) will find something they love,” Lund said of the entire lineup.
