With a focus on clinicians, the new program will prepare graduates to meet the growing demand for qualified cannabis health professionals
SAN DIEGO, May 31, 2022 / PRNevsvire-PRVeb / - The Pacific College of Health and Science announced today that it will launch its new Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Therapy (MS-MCT) program for the fall semester of 2022. The MS-MCT is specifically designed for clinicians and builds on to the success of Pacific College’s Medical Cannabis Certificate Program. The college, which holds prestigious VASC accreditation, also gives MS-MCT students additional flexibility by offering 100% online courses that include a combination of live classes and self-paced assignments.
State cannabis reform and the impending federal decriminalization are creating an increase in demand for qualified cannabis health workers. The number of jobs in the industry is expected to increase from 70,000 to 700,000 by 2025, with an exponential increase in sales of $ 3 billion to the $ 143 billion during the same period. With November 2021 A Gallup poll shows that 68 percent of Americans support the legalization of cannabis, and the market will only continue to grow. Pacific College’s new Master of Science in Cannabis Medical Therapy program will prepare students for these growing opportunities in a growing marketplace.
The Master of Science in Medical Therapeutics program prepares graduates to enter the cannabis industry as clinicians, health professionals, lawyers, educators or trainers. Upon completion, graduates will be able to apply evidence-based conceptual knowledge about cannabis in clinical settings; apply best practices regarding patient assessment, dosing guidelines and routes of administration; use evidence-based cannabis science and holistic approaches to educate, teach and advocate for the cannabis patient population; and be thought leaders in training and educating cannabis patients, the general public, policy makers and the medical community. The program includes 10 courses for 30 university credits, and can be completed in 20 months.

In addition to the MS-MCT program, Pacific College also offers its own medical cannabis certification program. It contains two available songs (Medical Cannabis Foundation and Medical Cannabis for Health Professionals), teaches participants to teach patients about the therapeutic effects behind the medical qualities of cannabis, dosing, self-titration approaches and swallowing methods, while promoting general health and well-being.
