The four most recognizable players in the National Football League will change their books for green books on Wednesday, as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers want to use their expertise on the golf course against Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. The quartet has previously been the center of attention on the golf course over the years in various pro-am, celebrity events and charity outings, but it has never been mixed with stories about garbage and NFL Sunday fireworks.
The sixth edition of the match is scheduled to take place later this week near Las Vegas at the Winn Golf Club. The exhibition, which first erupted with Tiger Woods against Phil Mickelson in 2018, has since taken on a new form and evolved into a team charity event.
The match has had many different formats over the years, including an 18-hole match between Woods and Peyton Manning against Mickelson and Brady. Other athletes took part in later performances, including Charles Barclay, Stephen Curry and Rogers.
This match is not the first to be shown at the Winn Golf Club. Brison DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka faced off last November in a one-on-one fight in which Koepka came out the winner. In addition, this is the first edition in which there will be no professional golfer.

Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers: Brady has succeeded in almost everything in his life … except this event. The seven-time Super Bowl champion will appear in The Match for the third time and remain without a win. Brady had many unforgettable moments in his two previous outings - from ripping his pants to getting out of the middle of the waterway. The 44-year-old has yet to show his best things, but he can boast of approximately 8 handicaps. It is at a higher level than four players, but the momentum is silky and you should count on something to have the most experience. Rogers, meanwhile, stole the show in his first and only appearance in The Match, catching a clutch stalemate while subtly stabbing his teammate, Bryson Deschambo. Rogers has the lowest handicap of all competitors, with about five. He has since competed in the American Century Championships and finished 24th ahead of Alfonso Ribeiro, who is a good golfer in his own right. Despite their battles on the field, he and Brady should have good chemistry and keep an advantage when it comes to what to expect in this format.
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes: Being young and inexperienced can be enough to lead this duo to victory. Allen was last seen in an audience of golf fans at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am when he joined forces with Keith Mitchell. Coincidentally, he came on the field late after he and Bilsey dropped out of the playoffs in the AFC Division round by Mahomes and Chiefs. According to the USGA GHIN handicap system, he is roughly an 8-handicap - like Brady - and should have no problems in front of the camera. Mahomes may be the wild card of the group, which reflects little of his (and Allen’s) game on the grid. He participated in the American Century Championship and even won an event at the Winn Golf Club a few months ago along with his main target, Travis Kelce. He may have the most firepower in the bag, but it is relatively unknown whether he is able to use it in the right way. He tied for 50th place out of 87 players at Lake Tahoe last July, in a sandwich between Joe Buck of ESPN and LSU football coach Brian Kelly.
