Mark Spain Real Estate, 3000 Galleria Circle, Suite 1500, which Real Trends and The Wall Street Journal named the No. 1 real estate team in the United States for closed transactions every four years, has expanded in Alabama by opening an office in the Verkplas coworking space on the 15th floor of the office the Offices tower at 3000 Riverchase which is connected to the Riverchase Gallery. The office was supposed to open on May 16. This will be the 10th largest metropolitan market in the southeast and the sixth state for real estate Mark Spain. It already has 14 offices in Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Nashville, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Raleigh and Greenville. The company said it expects to add more than 50 jobs to the area when the office is fully filled. Colby Burk, a graduate of Spain Park High School, will lead the office and sales team and serve as sales director for the Birmingham metro market.

Blue Pearl, a national chain of 24-hour emergency and special veterinary clinics, plans to open a clinic in the former Guadalajara Grill at 3470 Galleria Circle. Construction has already begun. Rives Construction Co. adds nearly 5,000 square meters of space to the existing building to house the surgical center, said construction supervisor Chris Chancellor. The exterior construction is expected to be completed by July, the Chancellor said.
Progress Bank adds a third office in Birmingham, Meadowbrook, which should open in the fall of 2022. The new location will be in 2000 Meadow Lake Drive. Hamburger chain Food printers plans to open a 1,100-square-foot location at the Riverchase Galleria restaurant next to Popeye’s, which once housed a pizzeria, said Gallery CEO Mike White. The food printers should be open by this summer, White said.
Covers, a seller of athletic headgear, plans to open the Leeds U location on the second floor of the Riverchase Galleria in a 3,500-square-foot location overlooking the food field, said Gallery CEO Mike White. The new store, which was once home to Henig Furs, will focus on college clothes and hats and should open this summer, White said.
